Water jet cutting enables us to cut raw parts and details from many different sheet materials. Essentially it’s possible to cut all sheet materials, which can stand high humidity and water pressure. Water jet cutting technology is used for cutting with water or a mixture of water and abrasive materials.
With approximately 3800 bar’s of pressure, the water is piped through a laser-thin jet head, which creates a perfect cutting edge for cutting details out of softer materials such as rubber, foam and plastic. Abrasive rich water is added when cutting harder materials such as stainless steel or aluminium.
The biggest advantages of water jet cutting compared to the usual thermal cutting technology is the cutting process itself, which takes place at a regular room temperature, and therefore the thermal side effects to the material are missing. Water jet cutting method is also widely used for cutting softer materials, which can easily melt or catch fire. Water jet cutting bench enables to cut thicker compound materials than most of the laser cutting benches.
Our water jet bench is from Finnish company Muototerä.
